Fernie is a wonderful town in which to base a group retreat; the town boasts excellent amenities and breathtaking mountain views. Fernie is steeped in history and heritage, and has a great library, a museum, a new Miner's Walk and a range of heritage buildings to rival any in BC.
Elk VIew Lodge is situated less than 2 miles from the historic downtown and as such is a great base for secluded yet accessible retreats. We have hosted a range of activity-based groups over the past 8 years, including faith-based and church retreats, conferences, scrapbookers and quilters as well as artists and writers. With a resident chef or offering use of our commercially-equipped kitchen, and with rates as low as $50 per person per night, the Lodge is a truly compelling venue.
We can frequently offer discounts for mid-week groups, we are keen for you to enjoy the best venue available, and recognise that many of the groups we have hosted are operating on a tight budget.
Please call to discuss possiblities, shoulder season and/or mid-week events can be just as enjoyable - especially when the cost is lower!
Fernie's old town is a lovely place to wander and relax - it has numerous quality stores offering a range of goods from clothing, through to artisan products, fine cheeses, luxury furniture, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
Actually, the list of what to spend your money on is mouthwatering...one could get a massage at the Lodge, enjoy lunch at the Arts Station, buy some hand made chocolates at the Bean Pod chocolate factory, have a mid-afternoon cookie and coffee at Freshies, take an afternoon stroll along the river and still have money over to sample some wines at the Picnic brasserie.
