SUMMER

Elk View Lodge is such a wonderful base from which to enjoy the numerous world class activities that Fernie and the Elk Valley are able to offer a summer group.

The Elk River, and its main tributaries, the Wigwam and Michelle Creek as well as the nearby Bull River, Flathead and Koocanusa Lake offer world class dry-fly fishing either from guided boats or walk and wade.

Fernie is rapidly becoming a mountain bikers' dream location; for the downhill enthusiast Fernie Alpine Resort is adding to its list of trails annually, and there are numerous other downhill specialist trails. For the cross country biker we are at the hub of a range of famed day-long rides that have become the staple diet of the ICU-sanctioned Transrockies and other races such as the Furious3. Fernie has an excellent All mountain trail network as well; one to rival the west coast amenities of Grouse Mountain etc.

Fernie's location in the heart of the Rockies allows nature watchers and hiking enthusiasts of all abilities to enjoy a truly memorable vacation. There are vast miles of marked trails ranging from easy 30-minute jaunts through to ridge walks and day long hikes in the true backcountry.

There are a host of other group activities tat make the lodge and Fernie a great choice. We have excellent white water rafting, river floating for the family, cliff jumping, a great local aquatic centre with water slides, family pool, large hot tub, steam room and lane pool, a community ice rink and curling rink (Sep to May only).
